The Moon & Sixpence
Cottage Rental on Salt Spring Island, BC
The Moon and Sixpence cottage provides an enchanting sojourn to the heart of "island-ness" with a South Seas flavour.
Named for W. Somerset Maugham's novel based on the life of French painter Paul Gauguin (1848-1903), this inspired cottage is bright and colourful with a warm wood interior.
The main kitchen, dining and living room area is dominated by the beautifully painted Tahitian figures skillfully rendered in the style of Gauguin by SaltSpring artist Jude Harper.
A large bedroom offers a sea view from the queen size bed through the leaded glass door, with floor to ceiling windows looking across a very large wrap-around deck to Fulford Harbour.
A lovely walk on the beach is reached by private access across a quiet rural road from the cottage. Spring-fed Lyla Creek bubbles past the cottage, providing a zen-like meditative outdoor experience.

"What a wonderful experience staying at the Moon and Six Pence. You've paid attention to every detail! I didn't finish the Maugham novel, but now must get a copy to see how he works it! You live in Paradise... we come away refreshed." B & S
"Thank you so much. What a wonderful week-end filled with friends, hugs, guiet, giggles and wonderful nights of peaceful sleep. Watching your family grow is truly a blessing. Being welcomed in is even more. Tea leaves, pomegranates, apple cider, new projects and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Moon and Sixpence is truly amazing." C
